What is a 180 degree elbow?
180 degree elbows are used to fit between two lengths of pipe or tube, allowing a 180° change in direction. We can supply short radius elbows and long radius elbows. Generally, 180 degree elbows are made of duplex stainless steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, etc.
What is C22 Hastelloy?
Alloy C22 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum solid solution reinforced superalloy with a nominal chemical composition of 56% nickel, 22% chromium and 13% molybdenum with additions of iron, tungsten and cobalt. It is commonly known as Hastelloy® C22 and generic name UNS N06022.
Hastelloy C22 is a general purpose nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten austenitic alloy with increased resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. The high chromium content gives good oxidation resistance to oxidizing media, while the molybdenum and tungsten content gives good oxidation resistance to reducing media. This nickel-steel alloy also has excellent resistance to oxidizing aqueous media, including wet chlorine and mixtures containing nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chloride ions. Other Corrosive Materials Hastelloy C-22 contains oxidizing acid chlorides, wet chlorine, formic and acetic acids, ferric and copper chlorides, sea water, brine, and many mixed or contaminated organic and inorganic chemical solutions. This nickel alloy also has the best environmental resistance to the reducing and oxidizing conditions encountered in process streams. This is great for all-purpose plants where this "disturbance" happens frequently.
This nickel alloy resists grain boundary precipitation in the heat-affected zone of the weld, making it suitable for most chemical process applications under welding conditions.
Alloy C-22 should not be used at service temperatures above 1250°F due to formation of harmful phases above this temperature.
