ASTM A335 P22 Alloy Steel Seamless Pipe
ASTM A335 P22 Alloy Steel Seamless Pipes are Carbon steel pipes with addition of chromium, molybdenum, and sometimes vanadium. Chromium, or chrome, improves high-temperature strength, increases oxidation resistance and raises the tensile, yield and hardness at room temperatures. Molybdenum increases the strength, elastic limit, resistance to wear, impact qualities and hardenability. It increases the resistance to softening, restrains grain growth and makes chromium steel less susceptible to embrittlement. Moly is also the most effective additive for increasing high temperature creep strength, or creep resistance, and it also enhances the corrosion resistance of steel and inhibits pitting. P22 is used for high temperature service applications and is tolerant to variations in its microstructure.
ASTM A335 P22 Seamless Pipe could be used in forming operations without cracking. Bending, forging, flanging and fusion welding could be applied on this pipe. It has very high tensile strength, corrosion resistance and yield strength as well. The ASME SA335 P22 Alloy Steel Pipes could withstand high pressures and temperatures. Thus, ASTM A335 P22 Pipe is used in applications that need to operate under high pressure and temperature. The A335 P22 Chrome Pipe has chromium in its composition which provides the high corrosion resistant properties. Also there are other elements present in the P22 steel pipe material composition. Manganese, phosphorus, silicon and carbon are added in different quantities according to the grade.
