S32760 Duplex Stainless Steel Pipes ASTM A790 / ASTM 928 / ASTM A999
S32760 super duplex stainless steel has been developed specifically for use in corrosive environments. The properties of S32760 include toughness, high strength, and corrosion resistance in a wide range of organic and inorganic acids. Finally, it is characterized by high corrosion resistance to strong alkalis and various non-oxidizing acids.
S32760 is not recommended for use when exposed to temperatures in excess of 572°F for extended periods of time. UNS S32750 and UNS S32760 have similar chemical compositions; however, the latter contains slightly more copper and tungsten. The copper content (minimum 0.5, maximum 1.0) gives it excellent corrosion resistance in many non-oxidizing and inorganic acids such as hydrochloric and sulfuric acid.
Super duplex alloy UNS SS32760 (F55/1.4501) has excellent corrosion resistance to a variety of media and excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in seawater and other chloride-containing environments. The critical pitting temperature exceeds 50°C.
UNS S32760 (F55) is stronger than austenitic steels and 22% Cr duplex stainless steels and is suitable for a variety of applications in industries such as chemical processing, oil and gas, and marine environments.
